Mantras

In Ashtanga classes, we recite two mantras – one at the beginning of practice, and one at the end. We chant these mantras in Sanskrit.

Vande Gurunam charanaravinde
Sandarshita svatmasukavabodhe
Nishreyase jangalikayamane
Samsara hálahala mohashantyai
Abahu Purushakaram
Shankhacakrsi dharinam
Sahasra sirasam svetam
Pranamami Patanjalim

Om
I bow to the lotus feet of the Supreme Guru
Which awaken insight into the happiness of pure Being,
Which are the refuge, the jungle physician,
Which eliminate the delusion caused by the poisonous herb of conditioned existence.
I prostrate before the sage Patanjali
Who has thousands of radiant, white heads (as the divine serpent, Ananta)
And who has, as far as his arms, assumed the form of a man
Holding a conch shell, a wheel and a sword.

Swasthi-praja bhyam pari pala yantam

Beginner´s Course: You have two options to learn the basics.

Beginner’s course:The beginner’s course consists of two Mysore-style classes during the week within thirty days after your first class.

The weekend beginner’s course: consists of a 1.5 hour class on a Saturday and another 1.5 hour class on a Sunday in which we learn the bases and method of Ashtanga Yoga.
