How did Ashtanga Yoga Málaga come to be?
I still remember the day that I went to Ashtanga Yoga Shala in Barcelona with Elena Figarola. I had already practiced other types of yoga, like Hatha and Iyengar, but I didn’t know anything about Ashtanga.

The class already started, and I came in and sat in the back. I remember the strong sound of breathing, the bodies shining with sweat, the silence, the continuous movements, the concentration of the people practicing. I had never seen anything like it. I was fascinated and started the next day…
I studied Art in Granada and was working as an interior designer in Barcelona afterwards. After a few years practicing Ashtanga daily, my priorities began to change and I felt the need to teach Ashtanga.
I was assisting Elena for a long time before I finally started to teach classes in the Barcelona shala, and then in other yoga centers.
My next destination was Madrid where I taught at Ashtanga Yoga Madrid along with Borja Romero.
I took advantage of summers to go to Crete (Greece) to practice with Radha Warrell and Pierre Seghir in Agios Pavlos. I attended various Ashtanga workshops with Peter Sanson (from New Zealand) which occur annually in Spain. I try to go to Mysore (India) every year where I have been a direct student of Sri. R. Sharath Jois https://sharathjois.com, who gives me the authorization to teach.
After several years as a teacher in Ashtanga Yoga Madrid, I felt the need to have my own school, and I chose to do it in Malaga where I grew up.
Ashtanga changed my life, maybe it will also change your lives 😉
Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
Namaste
